Ben's Place
A downloadable game for Windows
Ben's Place is a short horror narrative game taking place in Ben's house.
You're exploring a large house with maze-like interiors and a ridiculous amount of doors. You hold a flashlight and nothing else. You find an empty chair. Who's the chair for? Well, you discover a cassette. It turns out that cassette holds Ben's memory and conscience. He is your virtual companion, his thoughts can only be read out through audio players that are scattered throughout the map. Colossal spiders wander the house, the only way to defeat them is to shine your flashlight upon one.
The game was made in 7 days for the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.1, which I however ultimately failed to submit in time, just a couple minutes late. So I polished it a little more and published it still.
Devlog:
Note: Unfortunately, Godot 4's web export is still a bit limited. It cannot use the Forward+ renderer, thus rendering some essential features of the game useless (pun intended). Hence, the game cannot be exported for the web, but is exported for Windows instead.

A great mix of spooky and campy, I really enjoyed the basicness of the game, the bizarre plot, and had a lot of fun. Great work!
Thanks for playing the game!
Nice really good game well donekeep it up!
Thanks!
Pretty good game honestly, spooky but also very loud ambience. I think this game might be better with a settings tab for audio and etc. But better graphics/models might make a more significant impact.
This game was originally made for the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.1, and I missed the deadline by a couple of minutes, but still decided to upload it anyways, so it isn't very polished.
I am very keen to see how this game develops, if updates will be made.
I'm considering about updating the game, but if I do, it'll probably not be so soon, cuz I'm working on other projects at the moment.
